The temperament
Anuradha is the most socially capable of the Scorpio nakshatras, and the warmest. Its deity is Mitra, the god of friendship, and the theme throughout is loyalty that survives distance, difficulty and time. There is a strong capacity to work with others as equals, real organising ability, and an emotional depth that is offered rather than imposed. Mitra is the Aditya of contracts and alliances — literally 'friend' — paired in the Vedas with Varuna. Where Varuna binds by oath and punishment, Mitra binds by affection and agreement.
