11th Lord in the 5th House
The 11th lord is whichever planet rules the sign on your 11th house — which planet that is depends on your ascendant. The 11th house (Labha Bhava) covers income and profit, elder siblings, friendships and networks, and the desires you are willing to name out loud. Below is the general traditional reading of the 11th lord placed in the 5th house.
The traditional reading
Your 11th lord sits in your 5th house — gains linked to creativity, intelligence and study. Income can come through teaching, writing, the arts, advising, entertainment or investment. Speculation is possible here, though it rewards knowledge rather than impulse. An interest in children or young people may run through your work. Classical texts count this as a fortunate placement, where good judgment tends to pay.
This is the general, traditional reading of one placement. In a real chart nothing acts alone: the sign the planet sits in, the planets aspecting it, the condition of the house lord and the dasha you are running all change how it plays out — and can soften or redirect parts of it. Read it as a tendency, not a verdict.
What the two houses cover
Labha Bhava — Gains, networks and ambition
It covers: income and profit, elder siblings, friendships and networks, and the desires you are willing to name out loud.
The eleventh house is where things come in. Where the 2nd is accumulated wealth, the 11th is the flow that produces it — earnings, gains, windfalls, and the social connections that generate them. It is also the house of stated ambition: what you actually want, as opposed to what you are supposed to want.
Its lord: The 11th lord shows where your gains originate and which networks matter to you.
Putra Bhava — Creativity, children and what you love
It covers: creative work, children, romance, speculation, intelligence, and the subjects you learn for pleasure.
The fifth house is where something new comes out of you — a child, a piece of work, an idea, a love affair. It is also the house of merit carried forward, and of the kind of intelligence that plays rather than grinds. Planets here shape what you make and what delights you.

Common questions
Which planet is my 11th lord?
It depends on your ascendant. Your 11th house holds one sign, and that sign's ruling planet is the 11th lord — if Aries is on that house, for example, the lord is Mars. The free birth chart shows the sign on every house, so you can find it directly.
Is the 11th lord in the 5th house good or bad?
Neither on its own. It describes where the matters of the 11th house tend to flow. Which planet the lord is, the sign it sits in, the aspects on it and the dasha you are running all shape how it is actually experienced.
